 Great Posicle Molds! August 21, 2010

All summer we have been making popsicles in my Micky Mouse molds by Tupperware. Homemade popicles can be much healthier than those bought in stores and you can add lots of healthy ingredients without the kids even knowing! My kids love homemade popsicles and I wanted something a little more fun than the original one that I purchased. These molds are really great. The molds are a fun "star" shape. However, keep in mind that they are large. So if you are looking for something for younger toddler aged children I wouldn't recommend this item. If you are looking for something smaller I would recommend the jewel shaped molds that Tovolo makes (I purchased those as well). Also, the popsicles don't slide out really easily but if you run them under warm water for a few seconds that will do the trick it. As long as you only do it for 10 seconds it won't melt the posicle, but rather just make it loose enough to slide out without needing the strength of three people to help you get it out! :)

These ice pop molds were too high did not fit into one of my fridges, and barely fit in the other. Both are bottom freezers with drawers. If you have a side-by-side or other freezer it could work fine, but best to measure ahead if not.

When I blend my fruit smoothies I always have more than a glassful, so the extra goes in the pop molds and makes a great healthy snack for later.

I love these things because they let me control what goes into my popcicles. They are a little tricky to unmold.

I wish I could upload a photo of my daughter enjoying her popsicles. She is 4 years old and I'm very conscientious about what she injests. I can make these popsicles with yogurt, pureed fruit, or any healthy choice. I control the ingredients. I've tried other molds, but these are really high quality, easy to use and clean and just the right size for everyone in the family! Glad I purchased! I'll be getting more for Grandma's house and for gifts!
